Colton is such a character. He is such a crack up and constantly brings laughter into our hearts. He is full of love, and shows it with his ongoing kiss and hug giving. I am so lucky that he came into our lives. I know Ian is so grateful for him. Anytime Ian says a prayer, he expresses his gratitude for Colton before any other member of the family. They play so well together throughout the day (and night) that the greatest joy of my day is to hear Colton's hard laughter at his favorite person. It's so fascinating to see how such a new, inexperienced little boy can teach me so much. Like how mischief is fun, and how to pick up all the shades of possibility. And that a little boy's neck is sweetest curve on his body. He's also taught me that adapting to someone else's time table and not my own schedule is okay. His first lesson on this was on his delivery day when I was scheduled for an induction on the 26th, and he decided to come on the 25th (still almost 3 weeks early) only after 15 minutes after arriving at the hospital.
He was born with this wide-eyed, cheeky, open mouthed smile. He still carries it. I hope it never goes away.

Ahhhh, Colton, the keeper of my co-op heart. He is too happy and sweet for words. Like I said, I always imagine him when he is 20 something calling you from the Himalayas or wherever just to tell about the extreme sport he is doing. Happy Birthday, Colton!! We love you!
I always meant to write on Ian's birthday as well, but I figured you might not read the comment since it was late. We love Ian. He is everything that you said and more. He is a true peacemaker and always a joy to have at our house. He finds joy in almost anything and likes to tell jokes wtih Calvin. Just the other day Calvin told me one of their inside jokes (which I will tell you sometime), and it was so funny. later I heard them telling it to each other and they laughed were laughing so hard.
