The Fro...should it stay or should it go?

"Frolton"
"Soul Glo curl"
"The Kramer"

"Slick"
"The train wreck"

We think Colton might be ready for his first haircut. I think we all cringe in thinking about it, but I suspect that we maybe the only ones that think it's cute. I don't want to be that mom who thinks it's so adorable, while others are wondering why I don't concern myself with the appearance of my children. While I do think he's got a diversity of hairstyles, some have not turned out too well. As you can see above, there is "Frolton" that is easily done with fingers running through his hair and a bit of my hairspray. "Soul Glo curl" is his post bath look. His most common style is probably "The Kramer" (or "sticky do" as I like to call it) which is a result of every food he has consumed that day inevitably ending in his locks. His first haircut almost happened when he had an encounter with Thomas. After using his head as battery-powered Thomas' track, his hair got tangled in the wheels. Luckily, we were able to salvage it. Our latest venture was last week as we wondered what he would look like with straight hair. Answer: Not cute. We've never seen No Country for Old Men, but he looked like that freaky guy on the previews. Ian didn't like it so much either. His response was, "Colton's a girl". He sooned followed his remark with "I want Colton to be a boy". We held our breath in fear that we had permanently killed his curl. Which leads me to another question. We've gotten a few people comment on how their son's hair was this curly when they were toddlers and as soon as they cut it, it grew back straight. Is this possible? I think that's why we've held off on cutting it. So, this has been the ongoing debate in our home. Should we cut Colton's hair? We have about 7-10 days to decide since our camera is currently at the manufacturer's for repair, and we undoubtedly need to document this life changing event.

Susie, I'm hysterical laughing right now with Colton's hair-do's!!! He is so flippin' cute! Wait awhile, he still young enough to get away with his hair a little longer. So funny!! =-) Rod told me next summer after graduation that we are going to take a trip back east, New York, CT, Boston, we are for sure getting together!! Will you guys still be out there?

Ok, I love the hair. If you do decide to take the plunge then be conservative. He is so cute and you can only get away with long hair for a little while. Enjoy it.

The straight look just about put me over the edge with hysterical laughter! Curls are definately better on him. Love the post! I personally love his long curls and wouldn't want to change him just yet, but whatever you decide he will be so handsome! Miss you guys.

I haven't laughed so hard in weeks!Jaren says "definately keep the curls!" I'm not sure straight is a good look for Colton at this point! I love the curls...who knows what will happen...remember how Sofey's was? Keep it as long as you can! Love you guys!

I vote fro! He looks too cute to cut it. I do, however, vote against the straight hair. He looked homeless.

He is super cute, and he has gorgeous hair. I think he could go a little longer, but there does come a time when boys must be boys....age 3? :)

Those pictures are great! I think you should keep his hair long while he's still little. It's adorable :)

So FUNNY!!! I would put money that his curls aren't going anywhere but don't cut them too short because they are so darling. Your family is so cute!
